In the aftermath of Djoui’s death, Somb, king of the Dark Marderns, becomes the most powerful being in all Arca. Yet even with unimaginable power at his command, he is restless, haunted by a discovery that changes everything. Beyond Arca lies another world, and only the Boshio can open the path to it. As Somb sends his Mardern to recover the ancient power he craves, two estranged brothers are drawn into the hunt from opposite sides of the same fate. One refuses to help, certain the other will seek the Boshio for himself. The other agrees, but only if he can unlock its secrets first. What begins as a race soon becomes another war between blood, ambition and destiny, as the future of Arca hangs on who reaches the Great Boshio first.
